Wet Noses Grooming was the overwhelmingly popular dog
groomer at the event and we couldn’t be happier!
Were we really expecting to gain any clients or promote our brand to our market of clients looking for dog groomers? Well, since we service the Northwest Suburbs and have stayed pretty much far away from Chicago – No, we didn’t really expect to gain anything from this. But did we have fun and meet some great people? You bet! And that’s exactly why we decided to go.
Our new friends over at the Chicago wing of the wonderful Lagunitas brand contacted us a few weeks prior to the Beggin’ for brews, Barkin’ for bubbles event a few weeks ago and asked if we would like to contribute our dog grooming services for a day of fun, sun and craft beer.
“Absolutely!” We responded.
With all proceeds for the event going to PAWS Chicago , a no-kill animal shelter, it sounded like a really fun time and a great opportunity to meet some people! Wow was there a turn out! We can certainly say that we were soaked and completely dead tired after the event, but it really was a lot of fun. It was held a Montrose Beach dog park and had food brought in and some awesome blugrass music from the Northside SouthPaws! Hey, I’m left handed – cool!
As stated above, we really weren’t on the lookout for any customers – heck, we were a long way from out territory – but sometimes it isn’t about making money or getting clients. It is about contributing to communities, meeting people and generating money for a wonderful dog shelter.
We really had no idea how many people would be lined up in the summer sun in order to get their dog washed by Wet Noses! It was really cool!
Wet Noses was 1 of 2 dog groomers there and we are happy to report that our line was the only line of the day 🙂 Maybe it was our friendly demeanor or neat graphics? Does our reputation preceed us? We don’t know.. Our van was certainly older.. but perhaps our smiles were brighter 🙂
All in all it was a very tiring, but very eventful and fun day! We were very happy to be a part of the event and want to thank Lagunitas once more for inviting us, we were happy to lend a hand!
